Frequently Asked Questions

Questions students commonly ask about HBIU

These answers explain HBIU’s academic calendar, degree pathways, study modes, Student 360, degree naming, support, and common admissions questions.

How long is a bachelor’s degree program at HBIU?

The standard bachelor’s degree pathway is four academic years. Because HBIU operates three semesters per year, a full-time student who remains continuously enrolled and successfully completes the required courses may be able to finish in approximately three calendar years.

How long is a master’s degree program?

A typical HBIU master’s degree program is designed for approximately two years of study, depending on the student’s program, transfer credit, course load, and continuous enrollment.

How long is a doctoral or Ph.D. program?

A typical doctoral or Ph.D. pathway is designed for approximately three years of study, subject to the approved curriculum, research requirements, dissertation or doctoral project requirements, transfer credit, and satisfactory academic progress.

How many courses does a full-time student take per semester?

The standard full-time degree load is four courses per semester. Most courses carry three credits. Individual programs may have additional practicum, research, internship, or capstone requirements.

How many semesters does HBIU operate each year?

HBIU operates on a three-semester academic model. This structure allows students who remain continuously enrolled to make progress throughout the year.

Can I study independently or with a lecturer?

Yes. Depending on the course and program, HBIU supports a self-study/AI-assisted pathway and a lecturer-led pathway. Lecturer-led classes may include scheduled live instruction, while self-study students use the approved course materials, assignments, digital resources, and academic support in Student 360.

How many lecturers does HBIU have?

HBIU has more than 250 lecturers serving across its colleges and academic areas. Faculty availability for a particular course depends on current assignments, program needs, and scheduling.

Why do HBIU degree titles include faith-based or other religious wording?

HBIU is a Christian religious university operating under Florida’s religious-institution provision. Florida Statute §1005.06(1)(f) requires degree titles issued under that provision to contain a religious modifier so they are not confused with secular degree titles. HBIU therefore uses religiously identifying language in degree titles where required.

Are HBIU degrees earned?

Yes. Academic degrees require completion of mandatory coursework and applicable academic requirements. Students must demonstrate satisfactory academic performance and complete the requirements of their approved program.

Can I transfer previous college credit?

Transfer credit may be reviewed when appropriate. Acceptance depends on the relevance, level, documentation, comparability, and HBIU academic policies for the student’s program.

Does HBIU recognize prior learning or life experience?

HBIU may review documented prior learning and relevant experience in accordance with university policy. Prior learning does not automatically replace required coursework and is evaluated individually.

Where do I find my courses and books?

Students use Student 360 to access their academic program, semester courses, course materials, approved textbooks, assignments, progress information, and student services. If an official textbook is still being completed, an approved PDF or supplemental resource may be provided for the course.

What happens if my textbook is not ready yet?

A missing textbook should not prevent a verified student from entering Student 360. Students can learn the platform and access available course information while approved academic materials are being added.

Can I change my degree program?

HBIU currently permits one student-initiated degree program change through Student 360. Historical coursework and the original admission record remain preserved. Further program changes require administrative review.

How do I get help if I cannot log in?

Use the password setup or recovery options provided on the HBIU Global login page. Legacy students should use the email and Student Registration Number or approved legacy Student Number connected to their record. Student Services can assist when identity records require reconciliation.

What is the difference between HBIUAPP and Student 360?

HBIUAPP is the admissions/application portal where applicants submit and review their application. Student 360 is the academic campus environment used after activation for courses, academic progress, resources, and student services.

Does HBIU discriminate in admissions or student services?

HBIU is committed to treating applicants and students with dignity and fairness and publishes its nondiscrimination and conduct commitments in the University Policies section.
